Kyle has a job!

Wow, it has been quite a month.  This month, Kyle got a job!  After applying for hundreds of jobs around the Sacramento area, he finally has a job.  Praise God!  It is really an amazing story of God's faithfulness!

Kyle saw this job opening online and emailed in his resume, which was the directions of how to apply for it.  After a few days of not hearing anything, he called (which he had done on many many other jobs previously).  When he called, he found out that they had not even received his resume... but they asked him to come for an interview anyways!  So, a few days later he went for the interview and they offered him the job on the spot.  God clearly orchestrated this great opportunity just when we were getting discouraged.  It was such a relief for him to have a job.

His job has been a little stressful for him.  He is working at a skilled nursing facility in Placerville (about 45 minutes away).  He has a lot of responsibility at his job, since he is the only RN on staff over night.  However, he is doing great and his supervisors love him (of course!).  Kyle has been working non stop since he got the job.  Just today he worked a double shift and he has to go back and work over night!

Now that Kyle has a job, we are excited to plan a visit back to North Dakota.  We both miss his family so much!  Kyle isn't sure when he can miss work, but hopefully that can all be worked out soon!  Its funny how when you have the time you don't have the money, but when you have the money you don't have the time.

I am still enjoying coaching volleyball.  My team is so much fun and I love being back at my high school, although it is a little weird seeing all my old teachers! I have changed so much since I was in high school!  Since I am only coaching, I have time for other things.  I am finishing up my last semester of college.  In December I will graduate with my BS in General Studies and Biblical Studies.  I am so excited to be finished... this has taken me a long time!

This weekend I am up in Eureka, CA with my parents, sister, and niece.  My parents recently reacquired my grandma's house up here.  Asheena and I have such great memories at her house and really wanted to come up to see it and take Madison there.  There were a few tears visiting it, but it was really great.  This weekend I am so amazed at how much life can change in a few months, and even more in a few years.  Five years ago this month, my grandma moved in with us.  These last five years have been the most difficult, trying and sad years of my life, but also at the same time, by far the BEST years of my life.  It is a testament to God's amazing plan and faithfulness!

Its been a while...

Wow, we have been busy.  We have completely forgotten to update our blog (not a huge crisis though)!  We are finally all settled in our little 'house' here in Sacramento.  It is working out great!  We really do love it here.  Most of our stuff fits nicely and the rest is in a storage unit not half a mile away.

We are both currently unemployed (and really enjoying it!), but somehow are busier than ever!  Kyle is keeping busy with little projects around the house and studying.  The job hunt is going really well now that he has his interim permit.  Now all he has left to do is schedule a day to take his boards.  He is a little nervous, but I know he will do great!  We are patiently waiting for God's plan with his job; praying everyday that the perfect job would come up.  He applied for lots of jobs a few days ago, so now he is in process of calling and bugging them!  We know God has a plan and it will all work out.

I have been keeping busy with unpacking and school.  Both of which are no fun, so I distract myself very often with fun family things!  I get to spend lots of time with little Madison these days - we are making up for lost time and getting to know each other!  I am also really enjoying going on walks with my mom everyday and cooking for Ben all the time!  Him and I are also making up for lost time of spoiling him!

The weather has finally warmed up!  We swam for the first time this week.  It was such a blast!  Today is supposed to get up to 98 and tomorrow over 100!  I love the warm weather!!!

We are really enjoying this little mini vacation from work and such (especially me!).

Oh what a relief it is...

Spring is always a really stressful time for us.  We are usually finishing up school and going onto whatever our plans for the summer are.  This spring is definitely no exception!  With warm weather seems to come stress.  But with stress comes new opportunities and a new chapter in life!

I just finished up my semester of school.  Literally... just!  I am so happy to be done with it and now just hope all my grades are good enough.  School is such a struggle for me and with the stress of moving and new jobs and such, this semester seemed especially hard.  Praise God for getting through it!

Kyle has two more days of is practicum to finish and then he is a college graduate!!!  He turned in his last paper last night.  I really admire how well he has done in school.  He is always on the Dean's list and is graduating with honors.  He hardly procrastinates and always tries his hardest on school work.  Opposites must attract!  The best part is he is always happy through it all.  I could count on one hand how many times he has complained about school in the last three years.  Now he is working diligently on trying to get a job.  Please pray the perfect job opens up.  There are many jobs posted online, so I am confident he will get one of them.  I know God has a perfect plan for his job!  Kyle is really excited to graduate and cannot wait to start working.

Kyle has arranged all the moving logistics for our upcoming move... thank God!  There are just some things I cannot handle mentally and emotionally.   Kyle graduates on May 14th, and his pining ceremony is on the 13th.  His entire family, and lots of extended family as well as my whole family are coming to Fargo for it.  We are so excited they are all coming to be a part of his graduation!  Also, we are moving that same weekend.  I know it seems funny to just graduate and then pack up and move, but what other weekend will we have all that help?!  Hopefully everything runs smoothly, everyone gets along, and that it is lots of fun!

I cannot believe we are actually moving.  I remember moving to Fargo two and a half years ago when Kyle and I got engaged.  I thought it would be an eternity before he graduated; and yet, here we are!  Time really does fly.  God has been so good to us while we have been here in Fargo.  I am so grateful for everything!  We are really excited for the next step in our lives and living in Sacramento.  I really do miss my family!  Its funny how at one point you can't wait to get away and then a few years later you just want to come home.  God is good to provide an opportunity to move back and a husband who wants to just as much as I do!  We are really going to miss Fargo, North Dakota, our friends, and most importantly Kyle's family.

Prom in Cando

Last weekend we went up to Cando for their prom.  It was such a blast!  I got to help Juhee, Kyle's parent's exchange student, get ready for prom.  Kristin, her friend Madison, and I spent hours in the bathroom hair spraying, curling and pinning Juhee's hair.  After that we did make-up and put on her nails.  It was so much fun to see the finished product!  Juhee was beautiful, wearing Kristin's bridesmaid dress from our wedding!  The dress fit her beautifully!  Juhee was not so sure about prom at first (especially after spending 2 hours getting her hair curled!) but by the next morning she told me it was "actually awesome".

Kyle also got to help Shawn get ready, which consisted of helping him with his tie (boys are so different!)

After all the getting ready and taking pictures, Shawn, his girlfriend Cassidi, Juhee, and her date joined a group of 14 (I think) other prom-goers for a dinner party at different houses.  The Murchies had the main course, so Kyle and I helped a bit with that.  It was so much fun to see all the kids dressed up, and wow have the dresses changed since I was in high school!  They are so bright, colorful, and tropical!  I loved them all!

After the kids left to go to dessert at Cassidi's house and then on to pictures, we cleaned up and ate.  The food was amazing!  We always get to eat sooo good when we visit Kyle's parents, they are such great cooks!  After eating we went to Grand March.  For those of you who have no idea what Grand March is, I will explain.  Its basically a fashion show.  You know how all the moms always want to see pictures to see what everyone else was wearing at homecoming or prom, well that is not a problem out here!  The entire town (well mostly...)  gathers in the gym and each couple walks down a sort of red carpet (purple in this case) while being announced.  It is so much fun to see all the dresses and couples.  I think the west coast should adopt this habit, although I would have been so nervous!  At Grand March they announced that Shawn won Prom King!  We were so proud of him and excited!!!

Altogether it was such a fun weekend.  I am really going to miss visiting Cando on the weekends.  It is always so relaxing and calming.  But at least when we get to come visit after we move it will be for more than a weekend!

New to blogging!

Hello all!  We are new to blogging, obviously.  We think this will be a really fun way for everyone to keep up with us, not matter what state we are in!  There is a lot of change coming up in our lives and we want everyone to know what is going on!  We will try our best to post regularly, although we cannot promise our life is very exciting everyday!  Hope you enjoy!
